Well, its been a while since the last blog......


After moving house, we have settled in and got back to normality...sort of!


So T&T has got back in to action in the new kitchen. I have been supplying my lovely little customers at Lambs Larder www.lambslarder.co.uk, Molly Dishwasher www.mollydishwasher.com, Chiddingstone Castle Tearooms & gift shop www.chiddingstonecastle.org.uk recently. Everyone is getting busy with the new season and stocking up.


Whilst in the midst of  us moving house, Rebecca at The Toad Hall Company www.toadhallcompany.co.uk, was busily illustrating and designing my new flyers in which I have incorporated in to the website. I love the story board that explains T&T and its journey so far. The website has been updated so check it out and let me know what you think!!       www.trugandtrowel.co.uk. Im really pleased with how its looking so far, a couple of bits to tweek, but otherwise all good.


So as I get back to peeling, chopping and potting I'm really excited for T&T this year. 
Last Christmas was a blur of cooking and packing Hampers which were a huge success. So I'm going to be super organised this year and build up as much stock as I can before hand so I don't have to shut the order book like I did last time. Christmas is a great time for T&T and I have a feeling this one could be just as exciting and busy!

No more orders!!

Well, since sending my last blog Ive been mightily busy!

Last friday I attended Chiddingstone Castle Christmas Fair

It was a huge success and T&T pots were flying out the door, I was very pleased!!

Orders have been flooding in and I have now shut my order book, as I just wont have enough cooking hours left between now and Christmas. If there is anything you would like, please email me at info@trugandtrowel.co.uk 

and I will be able to tell you if anything is left in stock!

So for now you will find me chained to the stove......

Christmas Blog!

Its been a while since the last T&T blog and so I thought I would give you a quick update on T&T!

Its been a very busy summer and autumn picking and freezing so I can try and spread my produce over the winter. Two chest freezers were stuffed full of fruit which meant I had to make as I was picking the last of it all.  

I have been busy with orders too, jars are flying out the door and not just in my jute bags that have proved very popular again this year but my wicker hampers full of just T&T produce.......an order of over 50 are going up to London next week!!! Im very pleased but also very busy!

I am also really pleased to tell you that T&T now stock Chiddingstone Castle's Gift Shop and also supply their kitchen with Jam for the cream teas (which are delicious!). 

2012 will bring a new look to T&T with the help of new label designs, packaging, new products and new stockists. Nothing will change inside the jar, just the look that will really reflect what T&T is about. It will be an exciting time with some other ideas also in the pipeline too.....

I am working with illustrator Rebecca Day at the Toad Hall Company.

T&T will be at Chiddingstone Castle's Christmas Fair, 25th Nov 10am-4pm, www.chiddingstonecastle.org.uk a beautiful setting, perfect for getting you in to the festive spirit with mulled wine & mince pies in the Victorian Tea Rooms and some very nice stalls. It would be lovely to see some familiar faces, so come along and say hello!

The New Look Website!

So here it is, the updated look for T&T www.trugandtrowel.co.uk  Still needs a bit of tweaking, but Im really happy with it so far. It shows what we are all about and I love the fresh new look. There will be regular recipe ideas in which you can use T&T preserves with. The produce list is only a small amount of what we have in stock, so if you are interested in an up to date list please email me.


The garden has gone mad and the fruit is being picked, luckily this time of year it smells lovely and fruity in the kitchen, but it wont be long before the onion and vinegar smells take over!!


Anyway, off to Cowden Fete tomorrow for our 1st T&T outing this season. Hopefully it will be a good day and the sun will shine!!

A sneak peak at the T&T photos from our recent shoot for the new website!!

Ive been wanting to update the T&T website so with a few ideas in mind I called upon my oldest school friend to come and take the photos for me. Leanne Bishop is a very talented photographer and manages to capture the 'moment' in each of her shots. This was a little different than her normal shoots as I wanted to make a jam jar exciting...??!! but I think, and hope you agree, that she did a fantastic job. Sunny Monday!!

After flicking through my new copy of House Beautiful at lunchtime, I got all inspired and grabbed some of my wooden boxes, heated up the wood burning pen and got Trug & Trowelling!!
Then a quick dash to the garden centre to get some lavender & box plants and came home and this is what was created!
Im really pleased, they are perfect, just how I wanted them.


Though these are just for myself,  it could be another thing to add to the list of T&T creations, I will see what the response is..........!
